Among his main sources of inspiration, Alfano mentions old school graffiti, naïf drawings, movies and TV cartoons; Director’s Cut seems to be a perfect synthesis of all these elements, like a successful recipe: the artist revisits posters and characters of 70s-80s-90s cult movies, and he does it his way - a singular pop trash and lo-fi style. The result is a series of ruthless and dazzling illustrations, evoking a sort of memorabilia effect - in a good way - especially for the aficionados of the recent past and everything it includes. At the end of the fanzine, you can find the original posters and the epic quotes that have shaped our young minds.
